One point perspective drawings
The main rule when drawing from one perspective:
1. Ø All the horizontal lines should be parallel to all the horizontal edges of the paper.
Ø All
the vertical lines should be parallel to the vertical edges of the paper.
Ø All
the diagonal lines should meet at the vanishing point.
How to draw an Entryway from one point perspective step by step:
Start by drawing the horizon line slightly above the
middle of the paper. Next, draw a (10.5*19.3) rectangle for the back wall of
the room, Leave a small opening in the lower edge. This will be the place of
the stairs. From the corners of this rectangle, draw 4 diagonal lines outward.
Also, pull one more diagonal line for the stairs. Extend the lower right
diagonal line a little to the back. Then draw a vertical line all the way up to
the ceiling instead of the one in the corner. Next, pull the side of the stairs
without using the VP because you see it from the front view. Now, we will draw
the part of the stairs coming toward us (the viewers) so it’s necessary to use
the VP.
The Stairs:
Ø Draw a tiny rectangle “nosing” for the first step.
Ø Draw another rectangle for the first “riser” of the stairs.
Ø Draw 2 small diagonal lines that go to the VP to make the first “tread” of the stairs.
Ø Repeat these three steps until you reach the floor.
· Next, draw the side of the steps (the riser is 0.5cm, and the tread is 1cm). Add a slight thickness to the stage itself.
The
Handrail:
·
Draw the newel first which is the supporting pillar
in a staircase. (one on the foot, one on the landing)
·
On the center of each step, draw a column
(this serves as a baluster).
The
wooden chair:
·
Draw a (7cm*2cm) rectangle.
·
From the 2 lower corners of the rectangle,
draw two 1.5cm diagonal lines that go to VP.
·
Connect them with a horizontal line to make a
seat for the chairs.
·
Give the seat a small thickness.
·
Draw 2 vertical lines for the legs of the
chairs.
·
Gives the legs a thickness too.
·
Draw a diagonal line until you reach the
lower edge of the back wall.
·
Draw a tiny vertical line for the back leg.
·
Repeat these steps for the other legs.
Draw some decorative items like pillows, plants, photo
frames, etc. Draw all the final lines with a black pen.
The
wood floor:
· · Divide the lower edge of the back wall into equal spaces.
· · Draw a diagonal line for each segment that goes to the VP.
· · Then, divide it horizontally.
· · Finally, add a wood texture to the panels.
Shading is the last step in this tutorial but it’s essential like other steps. I use the darkest pencil I have for the shadow
areas And the 4B pencil for the mid-tone areas. Finally, I use a stump to smooth
the graphite.
